Caregiving in the Time of COVID-19

Caregiving under the best of circumstances is difficult. During this unprecedented time, it is even more challenging. One of the most important things for a caregiver is self care -- something that's increasingly difficult in this time of social distancing, closures of day programs, concerns about people coming into the home.

Some things caregivers can do to practice self care:

Free on-line yoga and meditation classes, such as from the New Bedford Wellness Initiative

Every time you wash your hands (which you are doing lots) take a few deep breaths.... in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Make use of your time in the bathroom to take a few minutes for yourself.
